These paintings are based on perspective and movement. The foreground paint virtually “moves” across the background as the viewer changes perspective. This is inspired by a method of drawing developed by the renaissance masters. The artist viewed the subject through a window and a grid pattern in order to achieve an “exact representation” of reality.
